Bugenhagen’s Day
Yesterday was the anniversary of Johannes Bugenhagen’s sleep in the Lord … but yesterday was about waking, not sleeping (Christus resurrexit: vere resurrexit: Alleluia!). Still, Bugenhagen is worth remembering. Pastor at Wittenberg, he was, among other things, a brave soul. If you think preaching in seminary chapel is intimidating, imagine preaching with Luther sitting in the pew! Read more on his life and influence at the Reformation500 website.

Interesting coincidence. I’ve finished translating B’s commentary on Matt.1-4, am half way thru his notes on 10 Pauline Epistles and will close the trilogy with his treatise on the Lord’s Supper. I’m not sure the first two will be of great value, although his explanation of the problems of genealogy is good. Would the bookstore be interested in the treatise on the Lord’s Supper? Peace, Rich
