ICYMI: Trevor Sutton, “Common Sense and the 2020 Election”

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, alum (and current PhD student) A. Trevor Sutton recently wrote a column on “Common Sense and the 2020 Election.” Drawing on the ancient notion of sensus communis, the essay discusses how the uniquely digitized mediation of this election season in the midst of a pandemic distorts our sense of community and communion.

The column was published in the online forum Sightings, hosted by the University of Chicago Divinity School:

In addition to his PhD work, Sutton is associate pastor at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Lansing and Haslett, Michigan.
