Inaugural Lecture – Joel Okamoto – October 9, 2014
On Thursday, October 9, Professor Joel Okamoto will deliver the inaugural lecture of the The Waldemar and Mary Griesbach Endowed Chair in Systematic Theology Chair in Systematic Theology.
The title: “The Madman’s Time Has Come: Theology After the Death of God”
When Friedrich Nietzsche’s Madman announced, “God is dead,” he concluded that news of the event hadn’t reached most people. “My time has not yet come,” he said. But now the Madman’s time has come—and so has the time for theology to confront the (so-called) death of God.
Date: Thursday, October 9, 2014.
Time: 4pm – 4:45pm
Place: Werner Auditorium
Reception to follow on Chapel Plaza from 4:45pm-5:30pm.
The lecture will be videotaped and will be offered on iTunes U shortly thereafter.

Supremely interested, but sadly there’s no way I’m going to be able to make it from Maryland to St. Louis for this. Any chance the lecture might make it to iTunes U in the foreseeable future?

Thanks for the note, Matt. Yes, it will be put on iTunes U afterward. Not sure how quickly, but it will get there. The announcement has been edited to reflect that important little detail.
In the meantime, keep working on your omnipresence, and you won’t have this problem in the future.
