Theological Symposium – Sept 23-24, 2014

The 2014 Theological Symposium is scheduled for September 23-24 on the Concordia Seminary campus. This year’s event is entitled, “Faithful Witness to God’s Story in the World Around Us: Bringing a Unique Perspective to Common Human Experiences.”

The main presenters for the 25th Annual Theological Symposium include Concordia Seminary professors Charles Arand, Erik Herrmann, Leopoldo Sánchez, Jeffrey Oschwald, and William Schumacher. Sectional presenters include Thomas Egger, Timothy Saleska, Anthony Cook, Richard Eyer, and Mark Koschmann. On Tuesday night, there will be a public lecture by Daisy Machado sponsored by the Center for Hispanic Studies.

The Symposium also offers an optional, inaugural golf outing on Monday (September 22) afternoon/evening followed by hors d’oevres and fellowship. This activity costs only $50 per person. Contact the Office of Continuing Education to set up teams, or to sponsor a Concordia Seminary student to play.

All Symposium registrants will also receive a free copy of the book Inviting Community, a collection of essays edited by Bob Kolb and Ted Hopkins that explores similar themes of witness, mission, and culture.

The registration deadline is September 5. Full registration is $135 per person ($145 per person after the September 5 deadline) and includes all program materials, Tuesday’s buffet reception, and refreshments. Other options include a Continuing Education Unit (CEU), meals, and on-campus housing for additional fees. On-campus housing is limited.
