The Luther that Lutherans Never Knew – Dr. Stephen Pietsch and Dr. Jason Lane

Tangible: Theology Learned and Lived explores the ways in which theology permeates all aspects of life. Through conversations with the faculty of Concordia Seminary, we will challenge you to deepen your theology and live out your faith in Christ. Jessica Bordeleau talks with a variety of guests on a variety of topics. There is something different in every episode, but all point to the intersection of faith and daily life. It’s tangible: theology learned and lived.

Luther wrote more than 6,500 letters which we still have today, including letters to those dealing with depression. Join Dr. Stephen Pietsch, associate professor of Practical Theology, and Dr. Jason Lane, associate professor of Historical Theology, as they discuss Pietsch’s research into the letters that Luther wrote to comfort those who were suffering from depression. Pietsch says that “Luther was more than a bull-headed reformer — but also a gentle, wise correspondent.”
