Tangible: Theology Learned and Lived explores the ways in which theology permeates all aspects of life. Through conversations with the faculty of Concordia Seminary, we will challenge you to deepen your theology and live out your faith in Christ. Jessica Bordeleau talks with a variety of guests on a variety of topics, but all point to the intersection of faith and daily life. It’s tangible: theology learned and lived.
On the seventh day of creation God rested. After the exodus, God told Moses to honor the Sabbath and keep it holy. Leviticus instructed all to rest on that day. Jesus was accused of breaking the Sabbath by healing on the seventh day. Jesus himself said that he is Lord of the Sabbath. The Small Catechism tells us to keep the third commandment by gladly hearing and learning God’s word. For centuries, many American Christians have considered Sunday a sabbath rest from everything but going to church. What does this mean for us today?
Join us in a discussion about the Sabbath with systematic professors Dr. Joel Biermann and Dr. Joel Okamoto. Biermann’s newly published book, Day 7: for Work, Rest, or Play, has a unique take on the seventh day and what it means to keep the Sabbath. Don’t miss it!
