We are pleased to announce an opportunity to walk the steps of the Scriptures in the places where they actually happened. A number of our students have been able to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience over the past four years; now we are offering it to pastors, church workers, and interested laypeople. Not only will you get to see the sights of the Holy Land, but the course materials and instruction will show you how to use the experience to deepen your preaching, teaching, and ministry.
Continuing Education Course Title: Exegeting and Teaching the Scripture In Context
This course takes place in Israel. It combines the development of teaching techniques with a very extensive tour in order to gain new insights, increase contextual exegesis, and grow exponentially in the ability to teach effectively. The preparatory work prior to class includes a series of readings and map-marking to place the biblical events in their context. These will be used extensively in Israel as we get off the beaten path to the best locations to see the Scriptures unfold. Other preparatory work will include a series of seven 5-14 minute videos that work in tandem with the provided Israel Study Manual, developed for this course. The class includes thirteen days of regional exploration in the field in Israel, going as to the south as area of the wilderness wanderings and as far north as Mount Hermon. Due to the nature of the course, the ability to hike and walk on uneven surfaces is required.
The course will take place April 10-25, 2018.
Cost: $3650
Included in the cost of the course is round-trip travel from JFK Airport in New York, all transfers, transportation throughout Israel and the West Bank, all hotels, breakfasts and dinner daily, all entrance fees, all text books (the Israel Study Manual, The Land Between, and The Student Map Manual), and the pre-course video series. Students will be individually responsible for the cost of travel to JFK (but will be assisted in making arrangements) and lunch daily (approximately $13/day).
