Dr. David Lewis has been named the Dr. Jack Dean K
Dr. David Lewis has been named the Dr. Jack Dean Kingsbury Professor of New Testament Theology, an endowed faculty position at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis that has been established to support scholarship in the area of New Testament studies. He will be formally installed in his new role during the Seminary’s Opening Service for the 187th academic year at 10:30 a.m. CDT Friday, Aug. 22, 2025. Read more at csl.edu/newsroom.

Marking the start of its 187th academic year, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will hold a worship service at 10:30 a.m. CDT Friday, Aug. 22, in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus. Seminary President Dr. Thomas J. Egger will preach on the new academic year theme, “Christ the Living Stone … Building Us Together,” based on 1 Peter 2:4–5.

We're thrilled to welcome LCMS missionaries from L
We're thrilled to welcome LCMS missionaries from Latin America and the Caribbean this week for their annual regional conference! After chapel today, everyone enjoyed some sweet fellowship (and donuts!) thanks to the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Mission Team. Later in the week, there will be a reunion of current and former LAC missionaries to celebrate the 125th anniversary of missionaries in the region. 

These missionaries are planting churches, sharing the Gospel, and showing mercy in 13 countries — supporting 42 church plants across the region. Learn more about their work: https://international.lcms.org/latin-america-caribbean/

This past Saturday, participants attended the Lay Bible Institute, “And He Spoke Many Things to Them in Parables,” presented by Dr. James Fickenscher, assistant professor of Exegetical Theology. Our next Lay Bible Institute, “Behold…the best creation of God!” Martin Luther on Marriage and the Married Life,” led by Dr. Jason Lane, associate professor of Historical Theology, is slated for Oct. 4.
