“When a Preacher Can’t Speak” with guest Dr. Joel Elowsky

“Tangible: Theology Learned and Lived” explores the ways in which theology permeates all aspects of life. Through conversations with our faculty, we will challenge you to deepen your theology and live out your faith in Christ. We’ll talk with a variety of professors on a variety of topics – something different in every episode, but all pointing to the intersection between faith and daily life. It’s tangible: theology learned and lived.

In our second episode “When a Preacher Can’t Speak” we talk with guest Dr. Joel Elowsky, professor of Historical Theology and dean of Advanced Studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He discusses the sudden onset of a vocal cord disfunction that left him unable to speak for four years. “It was truly one of those dark tunnels. I didn’t really see any light except for that little pinprick,” he says. This candid discussion explores the ways in which theology shapes our response to life. Tune in to hear more!
