Professor of Practical Theology Dr. Mark Rockenbac
Professor of Practical Theology Dr. Mark Rockenbach recently had the privilege of participating in the LCMS Youth Gathering July 19-23, 2025. Over the course of three days, Dr. Rockenbach gave 10 presentations on timely and challenging topics including “What About Transgenderism?” and “How to Discuss Gender Identity with Young Adults.” Rockenbach also co-presented with Ted Kober about topics based on their book, “Unforgivable.”
Rockenbach is part of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) taskforce, “Created Male and Female,” which hosted a booth at the gathering called, "Who Am I?" Concordia Seminary students were invited to help staff the booth and engage with youth on these important issues.

Dr. Rick Marrs, senior professor of Practical Theo
Dr. Rick Marrs, senior professor of Practical Theology, served as the keynote speaker at the Ministry and Leadership (MML) Conference, hosted by the IELB Lutheran Church of Brazil from July 24–27, 2025.

On July 26, the conference celebrated the translation of Marrs' impactful book "Making Christian Counseling More Christ Centered" — along with the Ambassadors of Reconciliation Bible study "Go and Be Reconciled."

Marrs shared three powerful lectures, rooted in DOXOLOGY teachings and Chapter 15 of his book, focusing on Christian Meditation. His trip and the translation project were made possible by the LCMS Office of Disaster Response. We give thanks for the global reach of Christ-centered counseling and leadership training!

Today we give thanks to God as we celebrate the 25
Today we give thanks to God as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Seminary President Dr. Thomas J. Egger’s ordination.

Egger has faithfully served the church through pastoral ministry and theological education, proclaiming Christ and equipping future servants of the Gospel. We are grateful for his leadership among us.

Please join us in giving thanks and praying for the Lord’s continued blessings on Dr. Egger's ministry.
