Congratulations to Dr. Bong Rin Ro, a 1969 graduat
Congratulations to Dr. Bong Rin Ro, a 1969 graduate of the Seminary’s Graduate School, who has been named Wheaton College’s 2025 Alumnus of the Year for Distinguished Service to Society.

Ro studied Historical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, from 1964 to 1969. He went on to serve as a missionary and professor across Asia, including in Singapore, Taiwan and Korea. He held leadership roles with the Asia Theological Association, based in the Philippines; the World Evangelical Alliance Theological Commission, New York, N.Y.; the Asia Graduate School of Theology, Quezon City, Philippines; and several theological institutions in Honolulu, Hawaii. He also recently published a book, "Asian Church History" (2024).

Director of Enrollment Rev. Jesse Kueker was invited by Dr. Yohannes Mengsteab of the LCMS Texas District to speak at the Eritrean Evangelical Lutheran Mission Society in Washington D.C. today. Kueker said, "As St. John the Baptist declared when he saw Jesus, 'Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,' so we also proclaim this beautiful Gospel to all the ends of the earth so that more might hear of their Savior's love. The church needs pastors, and Concordia Seminary serves the church and the world by forming pastors to bring the Gospel into every church and community."
